Glitter Sandals DIY – Update

Finished product – I LOVE them!

I just had to share how my DIY on the glitter sandals came out.  I was extremely impressed with how easy it was and how cute they look.  I followed instructions from a few people I found on Pinterest, this one, this one and this one.  I found a basic pair of sandals at H&M, then mixed gold and silver glitter together.  Applied with Elmer’s Glue (really the Dubai version of Elmer’s Glue).  The whole process was quick and easy, minus the mess of glitter everywhere but who doesn’t love a little bit more glitter in their life. I had planned to use modge podge on top, but didn’t like the way it looked.  So instead I used clear coat nail polish.  Not sure if the clear coat nail polish is a good idea for long term, but it was the best I could find in the sandbox.  I might try to look for a clear coat spray at the hardware store later this weekend.   However, I would recommend this DIY as it was super easy and I LOVED the results.

I am so in love with your DIY! I too feel in love with the JCrew glitter sandals, but was too late to get them. I’ve been regretting it ever since. I’m definitely going to have to try this!

Wow, what a brilliant idea. It turned out so stunning. What a little bit of glitter can do and adds that glamour effect. Thanks for that diy idea, I really have to try this out. Just saw those glitter sandals at H&M but doing it yourself is so much more fun :-)

I love the glitter sandals, what a great idea. I might have to be on a good yard sale search for a good sandal to do this with. Thanks for the tips.
